Kenneth Creek, 49, of Atlantic City, was sentenced to 50 years in New Jersey State Prison for first-degree murder and second-degree possession of a weapon by a convicted felon following a jury’s guilty verdict earlier this year.AdAccording to a statement released by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, the Honorable Pamela Darcy, J.S.C., delivered the sentence on Wednesday, October 24, 2024.

Under the No Early Release Act, Creek must serve 85% of his sentence—approximately 42.5 years—before becoming eligible for parole.

The case stems from an August 25, 2022, incident in which Atlantic City Police responded to a report of gunfire at the South Carolina Apartments Complex on Baltic Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers found 31-year-old Jordan Eaddy, of Philadelphia, dead from two gunshot wounds.

During the trial, evidence, including video footage of the shooting, revealed that Creek fired two shots at Eaddy as he attempted to flee.AdThe medical examiner testified that a fatal wound to Eaddy's back caused his death. Creek claimed he acted in self-defense, but the jury rejected this argument.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office’s Major Crimes Unit conducted the investigation with assistance from the Atlantic City Police Department.
