An Atlantic City man has been charged in the May 14th fatal shooting of another city man, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner announced.
According to authorities, Shamal Harvey, 23, is in custody for the homicide of Alexsander Campbell, Jr., 25. Harvey is charged with first degree Murder, second degree Unlawful Possession of a Handgun and second degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.
Officials said Alexsander Campbell, 25, of Atlantic City was fatally shot the evening of May 14th. The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene just before 6 p.m., in the area of 1001 N. Michigan Avenue. Campbell, who had been shot, was transported to the AtlantiCare Medical Center where he died as a result.
The investigation is in cooperation with
the Atlantic City Police Department and Assistant Prosecutor Rick McKelvey represents the state.
These charges are merely an accusation and not proof of guilt. In all criminal cases, a charged defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
