Troopers from the Atlantic City Expressway Station responded to a single-car crash involving a horse earlier this morning in Winslow Township.
According to police, at approximately 3:03 a.m., at milepost 32.1, a passenger car struck and killed a horse in the area of right shoulder.
Fortunately, responding troopers were able to corral a second horse that was not injured. Only minor injuries were reported.
After a brief investigation, the owner was located and notified.
The details and circumstances of how the horses got onto ACE are still under investigation.
