Authorities in Newark report that an arrest warrant has been issued for Shalar Nelson, 39, of Newark, who is wanted for a theft that occurred on July 6.
According to Police, officers responded to the incident, which occurred at approximately 8:33 a.m. at the BP Gas Station in the 500 block of Springfield Avenue.
Police say on surveillance video, the gas station attendant counted $500 from the register before his shift and placed it on the counter to serve other customers.
The suspect, later identified as Nelson, took the money from the counter and left.
Nelson, also known as Shawn Nelson, is described as a Black male, who is 5’8” and 200 pounds with brown eyes, black hair, and a dark complexion.
