Authorities announced the arrest of Arthur Turner, 49, of Newark, wanted for an aggravated assault and robbery that occurred May 20.
According to police, at approximately 2 p.m., police responded to University Hospital to interview a 49-year-old victim who doctors treatment after an assault in the area of Brunswick and Murray streets.
Detectives developed sufficient evidence to identify Arthur Turner as a suspect in this aggravated assault and obtained a warrant for his arrest.
Detectives arrested Turner today without incident.
Authorities charged Turner with Aggravated Assault, Robbery, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose and Conspiracy.
These charges are merely accusations.
The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The investigation is continuing as additional suspects remain at large.
