Police captured a suspect who led them on a foot pursuit through a residential community in Newark's South Ward Sunday morning.
According to authorities, police spotted two suspects occupying a vehicle in the 800 block of South 15th Street that was carjacked from a Bloomfield neighborhood a couple of days ago.
Police say the suspects bailed from the car and led officers on a pursuit at around 8:10 a.m.
Officers immediately captured one of the suspects, but a perimeter was set up in the neighborhood as a K-9 unit was requested from Bergen County to assist in the search for the second male.
It is not clear if the remaining suspect was captured at this time.
No serious injuries were reported.
