Police in Newark are looking for several suspects wanted for a violent carjacking in Newark's South Ward Sunday orning.
Authorities were dispatched to the vicinity of 21 Stengel Avenue to investigate reports of a carjacking in progress around 3:22 a.m.
Upon arrival, police requested EMS to the scene for the victim who suffered non-life-threatening injuries after several armed suspects approached and began pistol-whipping the victim.
Police say the suspects stole the victim's cell phone, wallet, shoes and car before fleeing the scene.
Authorities are looking for a white 2019 Mercedes Benz with a reported NJ license plate number "M77-PPB."
The suspects remain at large.
