Newark Police are looking into the motive behind an aggravated assault shooting that occurred in a section of the city Wednesday afternoon.
Public Safety Director Brian O’Hara said, just this afternoon, police responded to calls of a shooting in the 100 block of South 7th Street and in the area of 11th Avenue and South 8th Street.
Upon arrival, officers located one victim with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound in his leg at that location.
Police said a second victim, who was not shot, was located with a non-life-threatening injury to his face after the gunman attacked him with the gun.
The assailant ran from the scene and remains at large.
These incidents remain under investigation.
