Police in Newark are investigating a commercial armed robbery in Newark's South Ward on Wednesday night.
According to a preliminary investigation, police responded to 67 Elizabeth Avenue to investigate reports of a robbery in progress before 7:30 p.m.
Units arrived and were told by employees that a man armed with a gun entered the establishment and stole an unknown amount of proceeds before fleeing the scene.
At the same time, Tropical Storm Ida passed through the city, dropping over 8 inches of rain.
Police say there were no physical injuries reported and the suspect is at large.
