An overnight armed robbery of a CVS Pharmacy in Newark's North Ward has police investigating.
According to a statement released by police, at approximately 9:10 p.m., a male suspect entered CVS, located at 451-461 Bloomfield Avenue and announced a robbery.
Police say the suspect stole cash from the store’s register before fleeing on foot then making a left onto Bloomfield Avenue.
Police described the suspect as 5'5" tall and 200 lbs. and has a full beard.
According to police, the suspect wore black-framed glasses, a gray North Face sweat jacket, navy-blue sweatpants with logo and black sneakers with white soles.
While police are actively searching for this suspect, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly identifying him and removing him from the streets.
