Police are investigating a report of an armed robbery that occurred Tuesday morning just blocks from journal square.
According to police, a 38-year-old woman was walking on Liberty Avenue when a man with a silver handgun demanded that she hand over her jewelry sometime around 6:40 a.m.
The victim complied handing over a $300 gold necklace, two $100 gold rings, and red purse that had her driver's license, credit cards, and $20 cash.
The suspect - only described as a teenager or male in his early 20's -
fled in a silver Toyota.
The robbery remains under investigation.
