Police in Bloomfield are investigating an armed robbery that occurred late Thursday night, spilling into the early hours of Friday morning.
According to preliminary reports, officers were dispatched to the area of 26-48 Bloomfield Avenue at approximately 11:50 p.m. after receiving information about an armed robbery in progress.
Upon arrival, they found the victim, who informed officers that an armed man approached and demanded cash before fleeing the scene.
Authorities described the suspect as a Black male dressed in a black jacket, jeans, and a black beanie bearing an NY sports logo.
The suspect allegedly used a knife during the robbery, which took place near a local marijuana dispensary.
Whether the victim was an employee or affiliated with the dispensary remains unclear. Police are continuing to investigate the individual's connection to the business.
No physical injuries were reported during the incident.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to identify and locate the suspect.
