Police are investigating two early morning armed robbery reports that occurred in the city.
Hillside authorities responded to the 300 block of Yale Ave. shortly before 2 a.m. where they found two people reportedly robbed at that location. The pair (a male and female) were approached by two black males wearing gray and black hoodies who were both armed with handguns.
The suspects demanded the male victim's wallet and the female victim's purse before fleeing the scene. A thorough search of the area by police yielded no suspects.
A short time later, police units doing routine patrols on Yale Ave, received information of an armed robbery that happened in the 1400 block of Liberty Ave.
According to the male and female victims, they were walking on Liberty Ave when a silver or light colored sedan pulled up next to them occupied by several people.
Two suspects, (a black male wearing a gray hoodie and dreadlocks and the other wore a black hoodie and described as a light skinned black male) reportedly jumped from the rear passenger seats armed with handguns when they demanded cash from the victims.
The suspects fled south on Liberty Ave prior to police arrival.
