Authorities announced that based on further investigation by the Paterson Police Department’s Cease Fire Unit, in conjunction with the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, Raheem Thomas, 36, of Paterson, has been charged with armed robbery, in addition to the charges that were initially filed on Mar. 26th.
On the day of the incident, officers investigating a report of shots fired outside the Montclair Deli in Paterson, became aware of the armed robbery involving Thomas which occurred an hour apart.
During his arrest, police say he was in possession of a handgun and hollow point bullets. Thomas ultimately charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon (Handgun), possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and certain persons not to have weapons, receiving stolen property, and possession of hollow point bullets.
Thomas appeared at Central Judicial Processing before the Honorable John F. Meola on Mar. 27, where pre-trial services recommended Thomas be released with monthly reporting in accordance with New Jersey’s Bail Reform Law.
He is due to appear at Central Judicial Processing on March 29, 2017 in regard to the current charge.
