A late night armed carjacking in Newark has authorities searching for suspects.
Police responded to the area of Bloomfield Ave. and North 5th Street a little after 10:30 p.m. on reports of a carjacking in progress.
Arriving units located the driver of a vehicle that was immediately identified as a yellow Crown Victoria taxi cab.
The driver reportedly told police that two male suspects approached with guns drawn and ordered him out of the taxi shortly before units arrived.
Police issued an all city and county alert for the vehicle that was occupied but the two male suspects.
The unoccupied taxi cab was reportedly found at around 3:30 a.m. in the 200 block of south 11th Street.
The suspects are still at-large.
