Ther is an active investigation underway into an armed carjacking that was reported in the city's North Ward Thursday morning.
According to preliminary reports, at approximately 12:45 a.m., police were called to te 50's block of 2ndAvebnue to investigate a carjacking in progress.
Units arrived at the scene and found the victim who reported that a black male suspect approached armed with a gun and demanded the vehicle.
Police say the suspect sped away from the scene in the victim's white 2019 Honda Accord.
The vehicle has a reported NJ license plate number "U97-KZM".
According to police, the suspect was last seen wearing a black bubble jacket with a red hood.
There were no physical injuries reported.
