Police in Newark are on the search for two suspects wanted for an overnight carjacking that occurred in the city's North Ward.
According to preliminary reports, the incident was reported in the area of Mount Prospect Avenue and Mount Prospect Place around midnight when two black males approached the victim occupying a white 2016 Audi A6 and demanded the vehicle at gunpoint.
One of the suspects was armed with a handgun while the other suspect had a rifle reports said.
The carjacked vehicle has a reported NJ license plate number "A23-GGE" and was last observed speeding near I-280 on Clifton Avenue.
There were no physical injuries reported.
The investigation is active and conducted by the Newark Police Department.
