Reports of an armed carjacking at gunpoint in Newark is under investigation by authorities.
Police responded to the area of Central Ave. and South 8th Street on reports of a carjacking in progress when they arrived and began a search for a black male who was last seen wearing a dark clothing when he pointed a gun at the driver of a BMW, ordering them out of the vehicle.
The carjacked vehicle has a reported NJ license plate number "U26-FCM".
There were no injuries reported.
