Police in Newark are on the search for a set of thieves who pointed a gun a person then stole their vehicle in the city's Central Ward early Saturday morning.
According to reports, police were called to the vicinity of West Kenny Street and Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard to investigate reports of an armed carjacking before 2:40 a.m.
Units arrived at the scene and found the victim who reported that the suspects entered in a white or light-colored vehicle -possibly a Mercedes Benz- and demanded their blue Chrysler at gunpoint.
Police say the suspects sped from the scene in both vehicles after the incident.
There were no injuries reported.
