Police in Middlesex County are on an active search for suspects wanted for a violent carjacking that left a person shot in Woodbridge on Thursday night.
According to a preliminary investigation, officers responded to reports of shots fired on Kline Boulevard just before 9 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found a gunshot victim at that location.
Police say the injured was transported to an area hospital for treatment and is in stable condition.
The investigation revealed that the victim was approached by two suspects who exited a vehicle armed with a gun and fired during the attempted carjacking.
The suspects fled the scene and remained at large.
