Lakewood fire officials are looking into the cause of a fire that severely injured a woman inside an apartment early Wednesday morning.
According to fire officials, fire broke out in the six-story multi-family brick building located at 100 Woehr Avenue around 1:55 a.m.
Crews arrived at the scene found smoke coming from the building upon their arrival.
Officials say two victims were found inside a burning apartment with a woman suffering third-degree burns on 80% of her body.
Both victims were transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center for treatment and remain in serious condition.
The building was evacuated and no other injuries were reported. Officials say the cause of the blaze is under investigation.
