One person suffered serious burns after fire tore through an apartment in Flemington Monday evening.
According to preliminary reports from the scene, at approximately 9:20 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to 1 Garden Lane to investigate reports of a fire.
Firefighters arrived and began stretching several lines after they found fire coming from one of the apartments at the complex.
Officials struck a second, then third alarm for manpower after the fire began to spread into the cockloft of the ceilings.
Crews were able to get the blaze under control in under a half-hour but not before locating a severely burned patient.
According to reports, the victim was airlifted to St. Barnabas Burn Center in Livingston, where doctors treated burns to over 75 percent of the person's body.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
There were no other injuries immediately reported.
