Newark Police are investigating a possible trend in the city's North Ward following the discovery of another stolen vehicle abandoned early Thursday morning. This is the third reported incident this week in this area, raising concerns among local authorities.
Officers were dispatched to the area of 261 Clifton Avenue after firefighters encountered a vehicle deserted in the middle of the street.
Upon arrival, police confirmed the vehicle's abandoned status and arranged for its removal.
This incident comes on the heels of investigations launched on Tuesday morning, where two stolen cars were found in similar circumstances, one notably on Garside Street around 3:30 a.m.
Authorities are now piecing together these occurrences to determine if a pattern is emerging among local thieves.
Despite the active investigations, no arrests have been reported at this time.
