Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose announced the arrests of two Newark residents, **Santi Nazario and Freddie Rosario** for aggravated assault, possession of a gun, possession of the gun for unlawful purposes and conspiracy.
Police said on May 12, at approximately 3:00 am, the two men unsuccessfully attempted to shoot a 31-year-old Newark man but fled after the gun apparently malfunctioned.
Shooting Response Team detectives identified Nazario, 33 and Rosario, 29 as the gunmen and then relayed this information to the Fugitive Apprehension Team (F.A.T.).
Cops acting on an anonymous tip yesterday morning, Fugitive Detectives located Nazario at his residence and arrested him without incident.
Rosario was found already in custody at the Ocean County jail on unrelated charges authorities said.
**These are accusations against Santi Nazario and Freddie Rosario . All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they enter a guilty plea or are found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.**
