A call to police by an anonymous tipster reporting a man with a gun had cops locate and place the man in custody in Newark's North Ward.
According to authorities,**Victor Lopez, 36, of Newark,** was arrested for possession of a loaded .38 caliber handgun on Friday night.
Police said at approximately 10:50 p.m., a concerned citizen alerted police that two males were in possession of guns at Zeyne Unisex Salon located at 694 Mount Prospect Avenue.
Officers arrived and found suspect Victor Lopez, allegedly in possession of a gun authorities said.
Lopez was arrested without incident and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of Prohibited Weapons and Certain Persons Prohibited from Weapon Possession authorities said.
Police said the second suspect remains at large.
These charges are merely accusations.
The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
