Hi there, RLS Metro Media friends and family, it’s your girl Najla here! Spring is finally here, and that means Summer is close behind! What better way to celebrate Spring than to give back to the Earth!

In celebration of this year’s Earth Day, Carteret held its annual celebration presented by the Honorable Mayor Daniel J. Reiman at Carteret Park on Carteret Avenue at Cypress Street, Saturday, April 19th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The day started off windy and somewhat cloudy, but the sun came out very shortly, illuminating the park in a way that it shone on everybody, as you appreciate being outside in the warmth. As well as all the Earth has to offer, especially during a time when we need to help protect it to be a cleaner planet for future generations.

“Something about this day…the air felt good,” a community patron told me.

The day consisted of Food Trucks, Live & DJ Music, exciting activities for kids of all ages, including a NEW Clothing Drive, Reusable Bag Collection for Food Pantries, and Boro Recycling Reps w/Helpful Answers & Info.

“Kids running around and playing, enjoying the warm air, and eating delicious food. Love it,” a parent exclaimed.

The Wellness Expo with Vendors & Classes included a sound healing demonstration class that put everybody in awe. Not to mention, there was an Adopt-a-Park Cleanup!

“What a way to celebrate and appreciate the Earth. Carteret never fails to get me out in the community,” a young high schooler said.

From live music to park clean-ups, bouncy houses, and tasty food, Carteret’s Annual Earth Day Celebration had it all! There was something for all ages to do, whether it was volunteering to clean up your local park or enjoying tasty food.
My favorite thing was seeing the karate school demonstrate and enjoy themselves; it was nice seeing kids put hard work into something fun.

RLS Metro Media is looking forward to what the festival season brings this year for Carteret. Stay safe and have a fantastic day!
