Authorities in Essex County are actively investigating a violent altercation that happened inside a Newark bar on Thursday night.
Police officers swiftly responded to reports of a physical altercation in progress at the Nuevo Ejecutivo Bar and Lounge, located at 106 Broadway.
Upon arrival, several police units discovered a male victim with a stab wound to the head and a woman who had suffered a stab wound to her arm.
Both victims were promptly transported to University Hospital for medical treatment and are expected to recover from their injuries.
Law enforcement officers detained a suspect believed to be responsible for both stabbings, while the motive behind the attacks remains under investigation.
Authorities also suspect that a third individual, who sustained stab wounds, fled the scene in a light-colored vehicle.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing as authorities work to gather more information about the altercation and the circumstances surrounding it.
