Alleged Newark Theft Suspect Caught on Camera

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a male Wanted in connection with a theft that occurred on June 19, 2017.

According to police, at approximately 12:30 p.m., a woman walking in the area of 12th Avenue and Camden Street was approached by a male who snatched away her property.

The man fled on foot before getting on a bicycle heading towards South Orange Avenue.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6-feet tall and weighs about 170 lbs.

He was wearing a black T-shirt, Khaki Cargo shorts, tan Tiberland boots and a black or dark blue Yankees baseball and last seen riding a black, white, and yellow BMX bicycle with blue rims around the tires.

While police are actively searching for this suspect, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing him from our streets.

This investigation is ongoing.
