Authorities in Newark and its Fugitive Apprehension Team arrested two suspects, one wanted for a carjacking and the second for a robbery in two separate incidents.
According to Newark Public Safety Director Ambrose, Newark residents **Al-Fuquan Wright and Sandra Fernandes** - who were wanted by Criminal Investigation Detectives- were arrested this Monday morning by members of the Department’s Fugitive Apprehension Team.
Authorities said **Sandra Fernandes** was being sought for her involvement in the robbery of a wheel chair bound man on November 16, 2016 and Al-Fuquan Wright of committing a carjacking and kidnapping on November 4, 2016.
Fugitive detectives responded to East Kinney Street shortly before 7 a.m., this morning after determining that Fernandes was likely hiding in an apartment.
Police said after locating Fernandes, she was arrested without incident.
Also arrested was her brother, Jose Fernandes, 34 who was found to have an open contempt of court warrant police said.
Sandra Fernandes is charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.

The victim was returning to his residence at the 100 block of Prospect Street when he was accosted by two males who robbed him at gun point.
Witness said the two suspects fled in a waiting BMW. Police continue to seek the identities of the two suspects who remain at-large.
According to authorities, **Al-Fuquan Wright, 22** was arrested at a South 11th Street residence shortly before 10 a.m. on Monday.
Wright was being sought after he and an accomplice forced a 24-year-old Newark man to drive them to several ATM machines in the city on November 11, 2016 in an attempt to withdraw money from the victim’s account police said.
After one of the failed attempts, the victim was able to escape from the suspects unharmed, and called the police.
Wright is charged with Robbery, Carjacking, Kidnapping, Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purposes and Conspiracy.
No weapon was ever shown during the incident and Wright’s accomplice remains at large.
Director Ambrose noted, “The members of the Fugitive Apprehension Team continue to do excellent work at making our city safer. Through their dedication and tireless efforts these detectives have arrested and removed more than 616 fugitives from our streets so far this year."
These investigations are ongoing.
