Alleged Cooking Oil Thieves Sought in Newark's Ironbound Section

Police seek the public’s help in identifying the suspects in a theft that occurred on July 11th.

According to authorities, shortly before 12:45 a.m., a white truck arrived at the restaurant, two male suspects exited the truck and cut a lock to a cooking oil container located in the rear of the establishment.

Officials say the suspects siphoned the oil onto their truck before fleeing.

Surveillance cameras captured the same truck arriving at the restaurant and removing oil from the container on July 3rd.

According to police, approximately 200 gallons of oil has been stolen.

Officials say one of the suspects is a Hispanic male, approximately 25 to 35 years old.

While police are actively searching for these suspects, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing them from the streets.
