Police arrested an armed man accused of robbing a city bank , attempting to carjack at least two vehicles, and leading police on a foot pursuit this afternoon.
Police responded to the Bank of America on Stiles Street shortly before 2 p.m. for a reported bank robbery. Upon arrival, police said the suspect reportedly fled the bank where he attempted to carjack two vehicles in the area of Starbucks and Game Stop in Aviation Plaza. After the unsuccessful carjacking attempts, police said man ran across Route 1&9 where he jumped over a fence and entered a warehouse.
The man was taken into custody by Linden police a short time later.
