Jersey City police are investigating an incident that happened in one of their neighborhoods on Sunday night.
At approximately 9:40 p.m., police received reports of gunshots in the 30's blocks of Armstrong Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers secured the area after discovering several shell casings on the block.
Following a meticulous on-scene investigation and the review of surveillance footage, authorities initiated a search for a dark-colored vehicle seen fleeing from the vicinity shortly after the gunfire erupted.
Preliminary findings suggest that the incident stemmed from a heated argument over a parking space.
During the dispute, one of the individuals involved allegedly brandished a firearm and discharged it.
Fortunately, there have been no reported injuries resulting from the shots fired.
As the investigation develops, police continue to piece together the sequence of events.
