Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé has asked the public to help locate Ms. Malayiah Russell Valentin, 20, of Newark, who is wanted for questioning in connection with a shooting investigation.According to a statement released by the Newark Police Department, the incident occurred on Tuesday, May 21, at approximately 12:41 a.m.
Police responded to a report of shots fired in the 100 block of 1st Street.
Although no victims were found at the scene, officers observed property damage resulting from gunfire.
Director Ambrose said Newark Detectives are seeking Malayiah Russell Valentin for questioning regarding this incident.She is described as 5’2” tall, weighing 120 pounds, and is known to frequent Brighton Avenue near Wilson Avenue in Kearny and Myrtle Avenue near Grove Terrace in Irvington.
