A woman who left a vehicle on and idling for only seconds in a Belleville neighborhood had thieves steal the car this evening.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to Franklin Avenue at approximately 6:15 p.m. to investigate reports of a stolen car.
Upon arrival, police found the victim who reported that two black male suspects jumped into her black 2018 Dodge RAM 1500 and sped away.
The vehicle has a reported NJ license plate number “H76-KHP”.
The incident remains under investigation.
Police urge residents not to leave vehicles running and unattended.
