ALERT: Teen Wanted for Kicking Open Door in Newark’s West Ward

Police officials in Newark requests the public’s help in locating Mr. Jason Artis, 18, who is being sought on a charge of burglary in an incident that occurred on Monday, December 9.

Police said in a statement that shortly after 12:30 p.m., officers responded to a burglary call in the area of 18th and Stuyvesant avenues.

Police say they were told a man kicked in the door of a residence, entered then damaged a TV screen before fleeing.

Detectives investigating this incident have identified Jason Artis as a suspect and have obtained a warrant for his arrest.

Police seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating Artis as part of this investigation.
