Police in Newark seeks the public's help identifying a suspect who robbed a business owner of $2,000 at gunpoint on Friday.
According to police officials, at approximately 7:04 p.m., the armed male suspect approached the owner from behind as she was closing Emily's Beauty Supply LLC, located in the 400 block of Elizabeth Avenue.
Police said the suspect demanded that she give up her pocketbook with the cash and then hit the victim with the weapon.
The suspect took the pocketbook and fled westbound on Watson Avenue.
According to police, the suspect, a Black male in his 20's, is 5'10" with a thin build and a medium brown complexion.
He wore a dark-colored hooded sweater, tan cargo pants, and grey/black Air Jordan 4 sneakers.
He has a slight mustache and lower facial hair.
