Police in Newark are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a male suspect wanted in connection with an armed aggravated assault that occurred on Monday, August 7.
According to a statement released by Newark Police officials, at approximately 6:35 a.m., a male victim, leaving a residence in the 800 block of South 13th Street, was approached by a male suspect brandishing a gun and ordering the victim back into the residence.
Police say the victim resisted, a struggle ensued, and the armed suspect fled, heading west on Madison Avenue.
Detectives investigating this incident seek the public’s help identifying this suspect, described as a Black male in his forties, 5’11” tall, and 180 pounds.
Police said the man wore a black rain coat with bright orange lining, black cap, black ski mask, black hooded sweat shirt, black pants, black boots, and black gloves.
