Newark Police officials requests the public’s help in identifying a male suspect who is wanted in connection with a home invasion incident that occurred on Thursday, May 18.
According to a statement released by police, at approximately 4:20 a.m., the male victim invited the suspect, whom he had met on a dating website, to his home in the 200 block of Shephard Avenue.
Police say the suspect entered the apartment, left after visiting for only a few minutes, and returned shortly afterwards with two other suspects.
According to police, the three suspects robbed and assaulted the victim, taking his wallet and other personal property.
Detectives investigating this incident seek the public’s help in quickly identifying the first suspect. He is described as a Black male, 5'8" tall with a thin build, dark complexion, and a slight beard. He was wearing a black hat, a black and white jacket, and black and white sneakers.
