ALERT: Street Closures Announced in Newark for Dirshu World Siyum Torah Celebration

Police officials in Newark announced that a number of streets will be closed to accommodate the Dirshu World Siyum, today from 2 p.m. to midnight.

Officials say the event, a celebration of the Torah, will be held at Prudential Center, NJ PAC and Newark Symphony Hall with over 30,000 attendees anticipated.

Drivers are advised to expect delays, to allow for extra time and to plan alternate routes due to the following street closures:

· Mulberry Street, between Center Street and Chestnut Street

· Market Street, between McCarter Highway and Broad Street

· Center Street, between McCarter Highway and Broad Street

Note: Heavy traffic is expected between McCarter Highway and Washington Street from South Street to Bridge Street.
