Police in Newark’s South Ward are urgently searching for a man in his 70’s who went missing Saturday afternoon after leaving a local high school.
According to preliminary information, Mr. Julius Hardy of East Orange was attending a basketball game at University High School with family members.
Sometime just before 3:30 p.m., he walked out of the building and has not been seen since.
Mr. Hardy is described as having fully grey hair and a salt-and-pepper beard. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing blue jeans, a navy hooded blue coat, black New Balance sneakers, and a hat.
He reportedly suffered dementia.
Authorities are asking the public for assistance in locating Mr. Hardy.
