Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, and Essex County Sheriff Armando Fontoura announced today that the Sheriff’s Crime Stoppers Program is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the murder of Mr. Alfred Cheatham, 55, of East Orange.
Official said on Nov. 2, 2021, the victim was fatally shot on Whittlesey Avenue near his home.
He was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:23 p.m.
At this time, no arrests have been made. However, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office is seeking help.
