Elizabeth police arrested a 19-year-old Elizabeth man reportedly responsible for several car-burglaries on Westfield Avenue Thursday morning.
According to police, at approximately 10 a.m. Thursday, Elizabeth Police patrol units were in the area of 49 Westfield Avenue investigating several car burglaries, when they were directed by witnesses to the possible suspect.
When the officers approached him, he ensued a brief foot pursuit.
Louis Blanco was ultimately arrested and charged with obstructing the administration of law, possession of marijuana, and aggravated assault on a police officer.
A subsequent investigation led additional charges against Blanco which included two counts of burglary, two counts of theft, and possession of burglary tools.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
