ALERT: Police Seek Missing 87-Year-Old Bloomfield Resident with Dementia UPDATE: Found Safe

Authorities in Essex County announced that the Bloomfield Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Charles Newcomer, 87, who was reported missing by his family earlier today.AdThe family member stated that the last contact with Charles Newcomer was yesterday, October 24, at approximately 6:30 p.m., when he left from visiting his wife at the Brookdale assisted living facility in West Orange, according to Blomfield Police. 

Essex County authorities stated that the family reported that Charles Newcomer suffers from onset dementia.

Charles Newcomer is traveling in a red 2016 Jeep Wrangler bearing the New Jersey registration SC688E, officials say. 

County officials said the vehicle's spare tire has a Marine Corp symbol tire cover. The EZ pass account attached to the 2016 Jeep provided that the vehicle went through the Lincoln Tunnel yesterday and hit again in Queens this morning.

Charles Newcomer was last seen wearing a black cap with a veteran symbol on it, a black jacket, and black pants, according to Essex County officials.

Charles Newcomer has a deformed right ear due to his suffering from cancer and a tattoo of the Marine Corps symbol on his bicep. (unknown on which side), officials stated. Charles Newcomer and his vehicle were entered into NCIC as missing.AdAnyone who comes in contact with the victim or the vehicle is asked to contact the Bloomfield Police Department at 973-680-4141.
