Police in Bergen County pursued suspects in a white BMW X-5 Monday morning after interrupting an attempted home burglary in the Rutherford area.
The suspects sped onto the eastbound lanes of Route 3 and then entered the southbound lanes of NJ-21.
Despite multiple attempts by officers to stop the vehicle, the driver continued to evade law enforcement, ignoring lights and sirens as the chase progressed into Belleville.
The pursuit was terminated near Exit 5 on NJ-21. The suspects were last seen traveling through Newark’s North Ward along McCarter Highway.
The incident remains under active investigation as authorities work to track down the individuals involved. If you see this vehicle abandoned in your neighborhood, please get in touch with your local police department.
