ALERT: Passaic Valley Water Commission to Enforce Water Shutoffs for Overdue Accounts

Passaic Valley Water Commission (PVWC) has announced that it will begin disconnecting water services for customers with overdue balances starting Monday, March 17. 

This action follows the expiration of New Jersey’s statewide moratorium on utility shutoffs, which officially ends tomorrow, March 15.

In an effort to prevent service interruptions, PVWC urges residents with outstanding water bills to take immediate steps to settle their accounts. 

The commission encourages affected customers to reach out to its customer service department at 973-340-4300 (option 2) to explore available payment solutions.  

Payment Options Available to Customers  

PVWC provides multiple payment methods for customers to bring their accounts current and avoid shutoff:

- In-person payments: Customers can visit PVWC’s payment office, located at 1525 Main Avenue, Clifton, NJ, to pay their bills. The office is open Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and accepts payments in cash, check, money order, or credit card. 

Additionally, in-person appointments are available for customers needing assistance with setting up interest-free payment plans. 

To schedule an appointment, customers should contact PVWC’s customer service team:

- By phone: Payments can be made by phone at 973-340-4300. Customers may use the 24/7 automated payment system or speak with a representative during business hours for assistance.

- Online payments: Customers can conveniently pay their bills online by visiting pvwc.com. Payments can be processed using either a checking account or a credit card.

- Mail-in payments: Those preferring to mail their payments can send checks or money orders to:

- Payment plans: To accommodate customers facing financial hardship, PVWC offers interest-free payment plans. 

Customers interested in this option are encouraged to contact customer service to discuss available plans and prevent service disconnection.
