ALERT: Overturned Vehicle Crash on Route 1&9 in Jersey City Leaves Several Injured

Jersey City police are investigating a two-car crash that left multiple people injured on Route 1&9 south truck lanes near Duncan Avenue early Tuesday morning.AdAccording to the preliminary investigation, the crash occurred just before 4:10 a.m., prompting several 911 calls reporting a collision on the busy roadway.

When emergency responders arrived at the scene, they found two vehicles involved, one of which had overturned and struck a pole.

Occupants of one vehicle were heavily trapped and required extrication by rescue teams.

Three individuals were transported to area hospitals for treatment, with at least one reported to have sustained serious injuries.

A portion of Route 1 and 9 south truck lanes was temporarily closed for the crash investigation and rescue operations, causing delays during the morning commute.

Authorities are working to determine the cause of the crash.AdMotorists are advised to expect residual delays as police continue their investigation.
