Authorities in Monmouth County are looking for a teenaged girl who ran away from her home in Neptune and is being tracked in Essex County.
Police say on Wednesday, Lee'aja Hill, 16, of Neptune, was reported missing by her foster parent.
According to reports, Lee'aja left home on Tuesday at approximately 11 p.m.
During the investigation, police learned that Lee'aja contacted school officials at Rugby School in Wall Township and indicated she was currently in a location in Newark but would not provide further details.
Police say Lee'aja did have a digital footprint in Newark’s Central Ward and are currently searching the area.
Lee'aja is a black female, approximately 6ft tall and weighs 260 pounds. She was last seen wearing a blue winter coat and white sneakers, according to police.
Police say Lee'aja is believed to be hiding with friends or relatives in Newark.
