Police in Newark issued an arrest warrant for Mr. Jovar Adams, 38, of Newark, who is wanted in connection with a stabbing that occurred on Sunday, February 9th.
Officials say Newark Police responded to University Hospital on a call of a stabbing victim who was assaulted at approximately 2 a.m. in the area of Howell Place and West End Avenue.
According to a police statement, the victim was approached by two men who assaulted him, resulting in a stab wound to his left abdomen area.
Police say the suspects fled on foot, heading southbound on West End Avenue.
The victim is reportedly in stable condition police said.
Detectives investigating this incident have identified Jovar Adams as a suspect and secured a warrant for his arrest on a charge of aggravated assault.
While police are actively searching for Adams, they seek the public’s help in quickly locating him as part of this investigation.
Adams is described as 5’6” tall and 220 lbs. He has a light brown complexion, reddish-brown hair and brown eyes.
