An Atlantic City man was shot and killed Tuesday evening, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner announced.
According to authorities, at 9:18 p.m., Atlantic City Police Department received a 911 call for reports of shots fired in the area of the 1800 block of Lincoln Avenue and simultaneously a ShotSpotter alert was received.
Emergency crews responding to the scene reportedly encountered a barrage of shots fired as they tended to Anthony S. McCrae, 28, who was found suffering from gunshot wounds on the 1800 block of Lincoln Avenue.
McCrae was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus, where he was pronounced dead by Dr. Raymond Talucci at 9:39 p.m.
An autopsy was completed today and the cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds and the manner of death is homicide.
