Police arrested a ninth grade student charging him with assault after attacking a physics teacher in the district on Tuesday at around 1 p.m.
Authorities said the attack was captured on video, shows the teen throwing the 62-year-old educator to the floor with students looking on. The suspect was reportedly attempting to retrieve his cell phone back from the teacher who confiscated it a short time later.
School officials confirmed that the boy was arrested and suspended from school.
The video was posted on the internet by a student according to authorities.
The video shows the boy later identified as a 16-year-old with his arms wrapped around the teacher, forcing him into a desk.
The student then forces the teacher across the classroom near the black board before forcing him to the floor.
